VICHAR
विचार — the idea, spoken aloud
VICHAR is where ideas enter the institution: an established webinar and dialogue series founded by Surya Prakash Soni and grown under the Federation of Indian Associations of Victoria (FIAV), bringing speakers and audiences together on education, skills, technology, enterprise, leadership and community. It is now transitioning to its long-term home at KASAUTI as the founding programme — its FIAV origins carried with gratitude.
VICHAR generates ideas.
KASAUTI puts them to the test.
A dialogue is not the end of the process — it is the beginning. The best ideas raised in VICHAR flow into working groups, research, pilots and, when they stand the test, programmes. VICHAR is the front door of the institution.
One intellectual brand, many local voices
VICHAR grows by editions — Australia first, then India, Global and Youth — run with local partners rather than separate organisations. The centre guards the standard; the editions bring the voices.
KASAUTI holds
- The VICHAR brand and visual identity
- Programme principles and intellectual standards
- Ethical and speaker standards
- Recording and publication standards
Local editions hold
- Speakers and topics
- Scheduling and local partnerships
- Promotion and community outreach
- Volunteers and hosting
Wider than one community — deliberately
Some VICHAR dialogues focus directly on the communities that KASAUTI’s initiatives serve; many address broader questions — AI and employment, the future of education, diaspora life, social mobility, entrepreneurship. That breadth is the point: it draws capable people toward the work, and one community’s questions are rarely that community’s alone.
The pipeline a dialogue can start
VICHAR webinar → working group → KASAUTI Fellow → research contribution → publication → pilot → measured impact.
Speak, host, or suggest a topic
Editions are assembling their first KASAUTI-era seasons. If you want to speak, host a dialogue, or propose a theme, write to [email protected] — or see other ways to get involved.
