KASAUTI

कसौटी विचार मंच · Kasauti Vichar Manch

विचार जो कसौटी पर खरे उतरें।

Ideas that stand the test.

KASAUTI takes its name from the goldsmith’s touchstone — the black stone on which gold proves its purity. We put ideas for community development to the same test: research them, pilot them in the real world, measure the results, and scale only what stands. The method is open — any community can take it up. The first initiative is already on the stone.

A goldsmith's kasauti — a black touchstone bearing two streaks of gold

The kasauti — the goldsmith’s touchstone. Gold is streaked on black stone and read against a known standard. We do the same with ideas.

What KASAUTI is

A think tank, not another association

Communities do not lack opinions; they lack tested answers. KASAUTI exists to generate ideas, challenge them, research them, pilot them and measure them — so that community effort flows to what actually works.

Evidence, not opinion

Research papers, honest baselines, measured pilots and published results — including the failures. A claim earns support by surviving the कसौटी, not by the standing of whoever made it.

One community at a time

Each initiative goes deep in a single community to build a measurable case study — evidence that the method works, and models any community can adopt through the register.

Independent by design

No single organisation, donor, faction or founder controls KASAUTI. Non-political, non-religious, non-factional — its authority comes from the quality of its work.

The KASAUTI method

From idea to change, on the stone

Five stages, each owned by a programme. Dialogue surfaces ideas; research tests them; pilots prove them; programmes scale them; measurement keeps everyone honest.

Already running

VICHAR generates ideas.
KASAUTI puts them to the test.

VICHAR — an established Australian webinar and dialogue series on education, skills, technology, enterprise and community, founded by Surya Prakash Soni and grown under FIAV — is transitioning to its long-term home at KASAUTI as the founding programme and front door. One intellectual brand, many local voices: editions for Australia, India and the world.

Programmes

The working parts

Each stage of the method has a home. Programmes launch as evidence, people and capacity justify them — never for the org-chart.

Running now

VICHAR

Public webinars and dialogues where ideas are surfaced, argued and taken seriously. Founded by Surya Prakash Soni and grown under FIAV in Australia — now transitioning to its long-term home at KASAUTI as the founding programme and front door.

Founding phase

KASAUTI Research

Studies, surveys and research notes on the real condition of the communities our initiatives serve — education, skills, enterprise, mobility. Methods published, findings open.

Founding phase

KASAUTI Fellows

Accomplished professionals and academics appointed for expertise and a concrete contribution — the institution's working minds, not a status badge.

Planned

KASAUTI Labs

Small real-world experiments with success criteria declared in advance. What works is scaled; what fails is published honestly.

Planned

KASAUTI Index

A longitudinal set of indicators for each initiative's community — education progression, skills, enterprise, participation — tracked against a published baseline.

Planned

KASAUTI Youth

Leadership, mentoring and opportunity for the young people of each initiative's community — who the whole exercise is ultimately for.

Start focused, prove the model

Proven one community at a time

Phase one · Prove
One community, deeply

Each initiative begins deep in a single community: a published baseline, real pilots, measurable outcomes — a genuine case study, not a vague mission.

Phase two · Extend
The wider family

What stands the test extends through that community’s wider family and its diaspora across the world.

Phase three · Share
Any community

Models, tools and evidence published openly — and a register open to the next community that wants to take up the method.

Founding phase

Help build an institution that outlives us all

KASAUTI is being founded by Surya Prakash Soni (Melbourne) — and designed, from its first day, to outlive him. Charter, governance and first research are taking shape now. We are looking for founding fellows, partners and VICHAR voices — not donations while in formation.
